Vitra Spaces

– What personal marks do we leave in the spaces that we live in? What do the objects we surround ourselves with tell about us?

Vitra´s exhibition at the 2019 Salone del Mobile looked closer into how our surroundings in many ways describes who we are and what it express. In this particular exhibition four distinct environments shaped by four points of view were showcased: the lens of the collector, the stance of the bohemian, the attitude of the global entrepreneur and the perspective of the nomad. The Vitra collection embraces and creates opportunities as needed and desired. Vitra also launched a new lounge chair by Antonio Citterio, as well as featuring updates and new products from Charles & Ray Eames, Hella Jongerius, Konstantin Grcic and Barber & Osgerby.

The fabric cover features a lively pattern in a complex jacquard weave. 2019 design by Hella Jongerius.
Grand Relax is a luxurious reclining lounge chair combining outstanding comfort with compact dimensions and a classic understated aesthetic. 2019 design by Antonio Citterio. Vases Découpage, 2019 design by Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec. Antonio Citterio and Vitra have now updated the extensive Suita sofa family and adapted it to the latest developments in materials technology.
After extensive research in collaboration with the Eames family, represented by the Eames Office in Los Angeles, Vitra has updated the colour palette of the Eames Plastic Chair shells. The new carefully compiled shell colours are designed to enhance the material in any environment. The palette comprises 14 contemporary colours divided into groups of neutral, medium and bright shades. The colour palette of the Fiberglass Chairs also has been extended with three new additions: dark ochre, light ochre and red.
