NYTT ROM 61 – The Far Away From Home Issue, presents Georgina Prittie from Australia. She works as an architect at David Thulstrup´s studio in Copenhagen and lives in Nørrebro. Sofie Egelund Christensen builds Vipp in New York and lives with husband and children in Tribeca. Erika Barbieri is Italian and a significant graphic designer based in Oslo, and Eric Beugnet is French, now living in Oslo with great love for Scandinavian furniture classics. The Scandinavian environment is influenced by these skilled internationals. They add a new taste with their different backgrounds and experiences. Their expressions range from international style, via simple Nordic to a blend of mixtures. All the places occupied by quite young and creative Scandinavians are in our opinion a lovely chaos of the attitude of living. In addition, we present a number of recently opened stores in Oslo and Copenhagen, all sharing a passion for design and living clearly visible in both the interior and assortment. New inspiration is added. In this context, the label “Far from home” can also be linked to a type of form and material choice. Furniture with light blue fabrics with plants and bird motives is far from our traditional Scandinavian attitude. What about chairs in transparent plastic? We hope this edition reveals a bit of Australian sunshine and some Italian elegance recognized as a taste of international mix in our daily life. NYTT ROM issue 61 is in stores from Thursday November 23rd.
