Northern Lighting Student Design Award

For the third time Northern Lighting hosted the Northern Lighting Student Design Award which had over 120 contributions from design schools in the Nordic countries. This year young up and coming talents were invited to make future design trends come alive by challenging existing lighting innovations, shapes, materials and functions. The winner, Mads Sætter-Lassen is a Master student at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, and his design Buddy is a smart desk lamp with an extra feature. In addition to the direct task light it can be used to store small items in the base cup – making the desk tidy. The shade can also be rotated, so the light can be focused in any direction. A characteristic and practical lamp in a compact format.
