Making Room for Personality

Skandium was founded in London in 1999 by three Scandinavians with the aim of being the best retailer of Scandinavian design & furniture in the world. Montana represents Denmark’s oldest furniture family, and was invited by Skandium to make the transformation of their four floors South Kensington address which they titled The Eco Townhouse.

– More and more people try to minimize their impact on the environment when they create their home and focuses on sustainable and innovative technology, interior and architecture. Therefore Skandium and Montana have not only tried to curate a collection of sustainable design, but also to show that it can be both colorful, beautiful and extremely habitable to live sustainably. Montana has been inspired by the multicultural landscape of London, colorful communities in London like the Indian and Arabic with their lively and powerful color universes. All floors are stocked with Scandinavian furniture, light and accessories from Skandium’s catalog, and each part of the exhibition carries a unique story about sustainability, the press release explains.

– Skandium’s Townhouse has right since the house was established in 2017 been a place where we unfold the pioneer in us, and we are very excited about the cooperation with Montana, which helped transform the house into one sustainable home. Scandinavian suppliers have for many years working with environmental and social aspects into their production. Therefore, Skandium will be a show room of Scandinavia´s best examples of sustainability and responsible design, Charlie Perry, Managing Director of Skandium explains. The London Design Festival lasts until September 23th.
