Tableware at Under

For the underwater restaurant Under at Lindesnes in Norway, Ment was chosen as the main supplier for the design and manufacturing of the tableware for the restaurants 18-course menu. Since June 2018 Ment has designed, researched, tested and produced products in collaboration with the restaurant´s chef Nicolai Ellitsgaard. – Getting to work with such a thought out concept, and implementing it further in our design has been incredibly inspiring, Ment says. For the project they have made items in porcelain, stoneware, wood and clay, and in most products the colors used are made from Norwegian minerals. All the items are handmade in Ment´s workshop at Fåberg. Photo: Ment

In 2012 the Norwegian sisters Sidsel and Ingvild Hemma established their design workshop called Ment at Fåberg close to the Olympic city Lillehammer. With the focus on long lasting design, good craftsmanship and quality they produce ceramics and woodwork. In what once was the worlds oldest ski factory they design and develop their collections, and this is also where they do the special process of colored through porcelain.
