Toro in Istedgade Cph

The owners of the popular Tapa del Toro at Torvhallerne in Copenhagen have recently opened Toro in Istedgade 60 at Vesterbro. The street that for years has been the dodgy end of the city, but today has become a trendy area with exciting shops, coffee shops and restaurants. Toro in Istedgade is a modern, unformal local eatery,- a wine- and tapas bar and a restaurant, with a menu consisting of the very best from deli del Toro. The deli del Toro in Torvhallerne imports the best of Jamon iberico and pata negra, chorizo, manchego and other delis as their specialty, as well as Spanish wine and sherry. The Spanish inspiration at Toro is obvious, serving both the classic tapas as well as tapas with a twist, always made from the very best of fresh ingredients. At Toro they also serve so called sjusser,- a drink that has less umbrellas and fruit topping than the usual cocktails.., they are mixed with more alcohol, and are ready made and bottled keeping the flavor unchanged. The kitchen at Toro is a part of the open space that together with the bar dominates the surroundings, with tables beside the windows allowing street view, and also reflects the urban light into the place at night. In the kitchen you find the chef Sune Rothenberg Lind with his crew. Sune is also responsible for the Toro interior,- a successful mix of raw concrete, wood and smooth surfaces, with an industrial touch introducing black- and copper details.
